Mike Dehnert :: Framework
Framework is an enviable dance music album, a remarkably fluid string of unforgiving techno tracks with rare but natural drops into mellower territory. But solid usually doesn’t equal earth-shaking — a summary rather than a push forward. It’s a pleasure to listen to, and chock full of potential jams for like-minded DJs, but no matter how well you work within in a template, you’re still bound to the rules of that template. Maybe that’s why it’s called Framework after all.
Fachwerk, the label Berliner Mike Dehnert runs in association with Sacha Rydell and Roman Lindau, can usually be relied upon for smart techno perfectly contoured for maximum aerodynamics. Dehnert’s first physical album after a series of digital-only packages delivers that solid Fachwerk sound in spades, a well-formed whole that refracts the diverse influences etched into Dehnert’s otherwise opaque techno prism into brilliant streams of multicolor light. The funny thing is, Framework isn’t a Fachwerk album, despite its title being an English translation of that label’s name: Dehnert’s debut album arrives on Dutch label Delsin

Disco Deviance :: Do It Nice And Easy With Love :: GW Edit
Fusing Eddie Drennon’s ‘Do It Nice & Easy’ with the still sensational sounding vocals of Donna Summer’s ‘Love To Love You Baby’ the result is an amazingly sensual melt of disco and funk. Meanwhile on the flip is Touchdown’s ‘Ease Your Mind’, a huge track on the specialist black scene in the early-80's. With its fascinating blend of jazz-funk sensibilities and disco vibes it has been reworked into an extended version, fully utilising the electrofunk flavour of the Arthur Baker / Cosmo Wyatt remix, and incorporating an exhilarating latin interlude from the 'Ritmo Suave' variant. It’s a perfectly balanced and eclectic dance package straight out of the GW vaults to celebrate Disco Deviance reaching its 10th release. We hope you have enjoyed the ten stages on the journey so far and are looking forward to the road ahead. Enjoy the music!

June :: Cytheria ep
Records like this don't come very often. Thankfully it seems there are still people out there who care enough to create beautiful projects and timeless music. After the ingenious ''June'' white label came out last summer, These Days Records' office fell in love with it and without wasting any time rushed to contact the mysterious artist and propose an album. Although well-hidden in a secret back-alley of West London where June lives and dreams music, his unique approach on Acid House, Synth Wave, Chicago House and 80's Nostalgia was too good to be left unnoticed.
