Mendo :: Remember
A-side "Everybody I Got Him" on George Morel's Groove On imprint back in 2000—re-touches the cut for his Cadenza debut. While the label's prior gaze was focussed on microscopic detail first, dance floor clout second, "Everybody I Got Him" flips the principle emphatically on its head. Sporting a groove reminiscent of Minimal Man's "Make A Move," the track incessantly rubs a creeping filter up against a funk-fuelled two-beat refrain, making for one of the most instantly accessible, and moreover danceable tracks you're likely to encounter this year. B-side "1992," however, simply offers up an encapsulation of why the label has garnered such a plentiful volume of detractors recently. A crude horn sample unfurls itself over the early stages, joined at the mid-point by some grating shouts and whoops, in a sort of "salsa goes to Chicago" vein. At the risk of grossly oversimplifying the evaluation process, the track is just straight-up cheesy.

Babak Shayan :: My Life
Since his first release with "Dualists" on Plastic City in 2001, Babak Shayan is on a continuous release course in the deep Tech-House sector. As a member of "Soda Inc" and because of his well respected label "Shayan-Music", he becomes a firm size in the German Tech-House scene. Now, after countless releases on vinyl, more than 20 compilations and albums, Babak Shayan presents his debut soloalbum and his most personal work: "My life“. It's difficult to do Babak's music in a drawer. Between Tech-House tunes like "Snake in The Grass“ or "Flowers" the listener can find always some sounds with Iranian origin and roots. On tunes like "One In A million“ which was also part of the "Lima" compilation (Global Undergound by Nick Warren) but also on other tracks, oriental sounds (from sitar to ney) are to be perceived over and over again. An Interlude even shows a conversation on Iranian between Babak's friends."Azadi Nist" (translated in english: "no freedom“), fits topically too well to the political situation in Iran at the moment.
Babak dwell in Germany since his childhood although his whole family still lives in Iran. After studying maths he moved to Cologne and started as a self promoting musician. With "My Life" Babak Shayan shows his qualities as an artist of electronic dance scene, his obsession to music in all forms and colours as well as his feelings to his homeland.
Lee Curtiss :: The Black Door EP
Lee Curtiss and Spectral Sound have been running in the same pack for years—finally, after sufficiently circling each other and sniffing each others’ business, Spectral and Lee have joined forces to release the Detroit producer’s Black Door EP, and it’s a doozy.
Lee Curtiss traffics in airtight, undeniable dance tracks with a trickster’s sense of experimentation—the Black Door EP is all that and more, a beguiling 12" whose charms multiply with each listen. “Black Door Beauty” opens side A with a touch of Chicago futurism, spinning congas, staccato vocal samples, and a swift dusting of hi-hats into a house anthem with psychedelic undertones. Berlin producer Dyed Soundorom’s remix minimizes the sub-bass thump and plays up the track’s oddball trappings, tricking out “Black Door Beauty” with the sounds of creaking hinges, neurotic synthesizers, and a particularly creepy chorus of hysterical tittering. B-side “Smoking Mirrors” guides the listener through clouds of melting organ tones and busy, polyrhythmic click-clack as a sturdy bassline (with a funky, French-house beat skip) cuts through the haze. Curtiss lets the rhythm do the work, building to multiple climaxes in the span of seven minutes. At the end of each anxious buildup, there’s a woman’s breathless moan, a let-the-air-out-of-the-tires hiss, and it’s time to do it all over again.

Martin Landsky :: We Are Streaking
After Martin Landsky's last bomb on Poker Flat, ‚Man High', he comes back faithfully with ‚We Are Streaking', a tasty twotracker (backed up by an equally tempting digital exclusive) rich in classic Landsky synth-work, deep moody melodies and forward pushing energies throughout. Title track ‚We Are Streaking' sends a warm pulsing sonic charge right to the core. Rushing, phasing and casually dramatic, an insistent synth theme revolves at the heart of this timeless slice of driving electronic house. Characterised by Landsky's experienced produciton hands at the controls, its a slow tweaking, extended cut that will take you back whilst keeping your body very much in the here and now. The sharp post-electro swagger of ‚Personal Decay' punches in time to the heartbeat of a generation. Taking inspiration from those adrenal, early days of rave, Landsky combines modern, fi nely tuned electronics with raw, dubbed and funked passages of killer proportions. Once again a perfect driver, in classic style Martin shows off all angles of his love for the beat. Tracklist: A: We Are Streaking B: Personal Decay

Roberto Bosco :: Login Exact
After a well-deserved break Mowar is back on track and proudly delivers its 4th release by Italy’s upcoming techno talent Roberto Bosco. Hailing from the Naples area, Roberto delivers 2 deep techno groovers. Login Exact opens up from the start with a very vicious and infectious groove, grabbing you instantly and looping your mind into deep techno heaven. Deep seductive chords and a most efficient bassline topped with a joyfully sweet melancholic melody. It’s a must for the deeper dancefloors out there! Login Dub takes a more dubbed out route as the title suggest, subtle detroitish chords, hooking bassline and a basic but solidly throbbing rhythm spiced with sonic delights. The flipside carries a brilliant remix by Offkey Industries boss Matt O’Brien. From the very first second you’re hooked on its groove and atmosphere. A Robert Hood-like feel would be the right way describe this essential and must-have remix. Mercilessly throbbing subsonic kicks, insidious chords and an eerie melody inviting you to explore the darker realms of your mind.
Mathew Jonson :: Walking On The Hands That Follow Me EP
To celebrate Wagon Repair’s 50th record our favorite Canadians are releasing a special colour vinyl of label head Mathew Jonson’s latest work. Fresh in the aftermath of new summer baked Cobblestone Jazz material, Mathew’s refined combination of unearthly melodic twists and floor friendly percussion is back, offering a darker and deeply personal perspective to his unparalleled output. Opener ‘Walking On The Hands That Follow Me’ stalks with foot stepped bass and rapid fire hat as subtle wisps of melody approach from afar. Deep and nightmarish, a staccato affected confessional vocal pierces the mix as a chilling pad blows an icy wind to make your hair stand on end. Ever cinematic, this vertigo inducing composition is among Mat’s most seductive and eerie. On the flip, ‘When Loves Feels Like Crying’ tugs with crisp melodic sentiment to a calm percussive motion. Rich yet fragile, harmonic fragments granulate from the central hook, dripping resonant as punched bass tones offer glimpses of movement and energy beneath the cascading surface form.

He can be defined as a pioneer DJ in the field of dance music, where since latest 70’s he worked in, playing in many small clubs in Perugia until arriving to work in a famous dance club, where he played from 1975 to 1998 funky, disco and afro music, influencing the formation of many famous house music DJ’s. In 1998 he understood that he was having enough of that “contaminated” ambient, and so he decided to work by himself opening a recording studio and putting
into music his idea of dance philosophy. Two years later his first album “Housin’ Paradise” was printed and published by Irma Records, having a certain success and opening for Maurizio many new opportunities to work as a DJ also playing in many foreign countries. His sets range from Tribal-Trance, Nu House, Nu Jazz. In latest years with his lp’s, singles and rmx he contributed to the increase of the world dance music scene.

Shirley Bassey :: This Is My Life
Funny how a lonely day, can make a person say:
What good is my life
Funny how a breaking heart, can make me start to say:
What good is my life
Funny how I often seem, to think I'll find never another dream
In my life
Till I look around and see, this great big world is part of me
And my life
This is my life
Today, tomorrow, love will come and find me
But that's the way that I was born to be
This is me
This is me
This is my life
And I don't give a damn for lost emotions
I've such a lot of love I've got to give
Let me live
Let me live
Sometime when I feel afraid, I think of what a mess I've made
Of my life
Crying over my mistakes, forgetting all the breaks I've had
In my life
I was put on earth to be, a part of this great world is me
And my life
Guess I'll just add up the score, and count the things I'm grateful for
In my life
This Is my life
Today, tomorrow, love will come and find me
But that's the way that I was born to be
This is me
This is me
This is my life
And I don't give a damn for lost emotions
I've such a lot of love I've got to give
Let me live
Let me live
This is my life
This is my life
This is my life

Solomun :: Dance Baby
Solomun is set to release his debut album later this year.
The Hamburg-based producer will put out the record on his home base, Diynamic, in October. Entitled Dance Baby, the full-length will see the producer showcasing the breadth of his skills. But whether it's the twangy chords of "Country Song" or the pop dance of "Cloud Dancer," you'd be hard pressed not to hear Solomun's distinctive touches within. Strings dominate "After Rain Comes Sun," clattering percussion rules "Deja-Vu" and yearning chords push "Forever" inexorably forward.
